Recruitment

“From the outside looking in, you can never understand it; From the inside looking out, you can never explain it.”

Many women are somewhat skeptical to join a sorority. From the stereotypes that movies portray of Greek Life, it’s no wonder why women do not think sorority life is for them. You can relax. It’s nothing like what they portray in the movies. Still, some of you may be curious, but are unsure whether or not you want to join a Greek organization. Others know that Greek life is for them, know all about recruitment, the endless opportunities, and the friendships that can be gained. I would hope that all of you would take the time to realize what a great opportunity it is to be in a sorority. It can be a home away from home, a place to be yourself and relax. It can be the girls who you turn to when you want to go out on a Friday night, or to study with, or to vent about the boy who broke your heart.

Sigma Kappa Sorority at the University of Nevada, Reno is a group of women who can offer you just that.

We are all unique, who come together through a sacred bond of sisterhood. We participate in different activities, have different majors, and different goals for the future. The one thing that keeps us together though is our passion and our love for Sigma Kappa.

I ask of you to really think about what Greek life could mean to you.

I know what Sigma Kappa means to me. I hope that you too can have a place in your heart for Sigma Kappa.

Please join us at recruitment this fall. We would love to meet you and help you learn what Sigma Kappa is all about.

Megan Stanphill

2009 President of Sigma Kappa Sorority at the University of Nevada, Reno
